twine + sunshine

Good or bad, words have the ultimate power to make the world go round.
There's just something about it that connects to one's soul, to others, and to ourselves that can change our mood to a whole new level of positivity. It's a natural ability and it's amazing how powerful it is.
Also, it's great how some people get to express themselves by mixing it with their utmost imagination and handcrafted talent - which is why we're more than honored to share an impeccable duo that redefined art and good vibes that's perfect to inspire and feed our souls each day. After all, we need that little ball of sunshine wherever we go.

what inspired you?
"A lot of things inspire us, actually. From books we've read to shows and movies we love, sometimes each other, and even our school work! Personally I think it's important to be really absorptive about everything, like a sponge, because you never know when you can use that seemingly random thing as an inspiration for our next product or design."

how did this inspiration lead you to make your masterpiece?
"Well, I think a really big factor at times is how much people will be able to relate to it. We always keep that at the back of our minds, and then we infuse our own style and personality to our designs to make products that are made with a lot of love!"

"The business was actually my brainchild, Celz Alejandro, and it started off as a little project just meant to unload my creative pursuits (mostly crochet at that point) until another friend (Adi Aurellado) asked if he could also sell his knitted beanies on my site. We formed a partnership, meeting in Maginhawa while reviewing the restaurants we ate in at the same time, as well as holding a knitting workshop.

Sadly, Adi migrated, but not before Joanne and I crossed paths in an org event in school, where we instantly clicked upon discovering our common love for handlettering and calligraphy. We later on decided to form another partnership under the same name and is now the Twine + Sunshine you know today.

Aside from more quirky and witty merchandise, we're planning on holding craft and calligraphy workshops targeted toward students. We also plan on opening commissions, so that's pretty exciting and scary at the same time."

Truly, the best thing that could happen in your life is finding what you're exhaustively passionate about and being able to make a living out of it. It's funny how adultish it may sound but this youthful duo behind T+S proved otherwise. By being passion-driven and continuously practicing their craft, no wonder T+S can spell out success. Besides being featured in publications like 'When In Manila' and 'Seiri Magazine', they we're also featured in some events around their University. If this amazing ball of sunshine won't make you gasp in awe, then we don't know what will!
